Where to work
Dedicated coworking spaces are concentrated in District 1 and Thao Dien, offering reliable air conditioning, backup power and faster fixed internet than most cafés can guarantee. For a more relaxed pace, specialty cafés in District 3 and around Thao Dien double as informal work spots, generally with decent wifi, though it's worth ordering something every hour or two as etiquette for camping out.
Internet reliability
Fixed broadband and mobile data are both generally fast and reliable by regional standards, though power cuts do happen occasionally, particularly in the wet season. If your work depends on being online without interruption, a coworking space with backup power, or at minimum a mobile hotspot as a fallback, is worth the extra cost.
Cost of living
A comfortable single-person budget covering a decent apartment, eating out regularly, coworking membership and normal socialising runs well below equivalent costs in Western cities or Singapore, which is a large part of the city's appeal for remote workers — though exact numbers shift with lifestyle and neighbourhood choice.
