Landmark 81, in Binh Thanh District, is currently Vietnam's tallest building, and its upper floors house an observation deck offering views that stretch further and higher than the older Bitexco Skydeck across the river. The building also contains a large shopping mall, an aquarium, and several high-end dining and entertainment options at its base.
Landmark 81 vs. Bitexco Skydeck
Landmark 81's deck sits considerably higher and offers a newer, more expansive facility, including multimedia and interactive elements in parts of the experience. The Bitexco Skydeck, by contrast, sits more centrally in District 1, closer to the classic sightseeing route. If you're only doing one skyline stop and are already spending most of your time in District 1, Bitexco's convenience may outweigh Landmark 81's extra height; if a short taxi ride isn't a concern, Landmark 81 generally offers the more impressive view.
Best time to visit
As with any skyline viewpoint, late afternoon into sunset is the most popular and rewarding window, giving you daylight views, the transition, and the city lights coming on in one visit.
Practical details
Tickets are sold at the building. Landmark 81 sits in Binh Thanh District, a short taxi ride from central District 1 — see our Binh Thanh guide for more on the surrounding area and its growing bar scene.
