The city's five-star hotels along Dong Khoi and the riverside almost all have a rooftop bar or restaurant, typically with the most polished service and cocktail lists, and often a dress code and higher prices to match. These are a safe, reliable choice for a special night, sunset drinks, or when you want the view handled for you.
Independent and mid-range rooftops
A newer wave of independent rooftop bars, particularly around Bui Vien, Thai Van Lung and increasingly in Binh Thanh near Landmark 81, offer similar skyline views at a fraction of the five-star price, often with a younger, livelier crowd and DJ sets rather than a lounge pianist.

Rooftop bar prices in Saigon sit well above street-level bar prices, closer to what you'd pay in a mid-range bar in a Western city, though still generally cheaper than equivalent rooftop venues in Singapore or Hong Kong. Some venues have a minimum spend or cover charge, particularly on weekends.
